This strawberry shortcake recipe is made in a trifle to serve a crowd (or just to eat on for several days like we did!) It was so delicious that my husband is already asking me to make another.
Slice strawberries into a bowl.
Dump sugar over the top and stir to coat, set aside.
It will form a sugary sweet liquid.
With a hand mixer combine sweetened condensed milk with softened cream cheese until smooth.
Add tub of cool whip and mix again.
Tear apart almost half of the angel food cake and put it in the trifle bowl.
Top with half of the strawberries and liquid.
Add half of the cream cheese mixture.
Make another layer of cake, strawberries, and cream cheese mixture. Top with a couple fresh strawberries for garnish, then dig in! It's so good and keeps in the fridge for days.
