Easy Bread Pudding Recipe

I love to make this easy bread pudding recipe around the holidays. It's delicious with my hot bread pudding rum sauce! During the holidays Panettone bread is readily available at places like Sams Club and other common retailers. We love it and think it ads something special to this best bread pudding recipe. Enjoy!


  • 8 cups of cubed Panettone bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons vanilla (Mexican vanilla is great)
  • 1/2 stick of butter, melted
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 2 cups sugar

Preheat oven to 325 degrees farenheit.

Beat eggs with a whisk then add vanilla, melted butter, and milk. Mix well.

Gradually add sugar and stir until dissolved.

Place bread cubes in bottom of a 9 X 13 casserole dish.

Pour milk/egg mixture over bread making sure to saturate the bread. Press the pieces down into the milk to let them soak up the good stuff!

Bake in oven for 55 minutes.

During the last 20 minutes of cook time, you should start preparing the hot rum sauce.

Bread Pudding Rum Sauce:

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream or half & half (milk will work as well)

Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Stir VERY often and bring mixture just to a boil, then reduce heat.

Serve hot over the top of hot bread pudding. You can't imagine how delicious this is!
