This is my sister's delicious Smothered Steak Recipe. If you have any
forethought, you can put it in the crock pot on low in the morning, and
it will be ready for dinner that dinner at night. If not, this can still be dinner tonight.
The smothered steak can also be prepared in the oven. The longer it cooks the more tender it will be.
Note: My sister has been making this in a lower fat version using skim milk and the 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup, and she says it still tastes great. It's not quite a creamy and rich, but still has a lot of flavor.
**If I'm in a hurry, I cook the recipe just as stated above (and it's great), but if I have a few extra minutes, I will brown the meat in a skillet prior to putting it in the crock pot. That's the best.
