How to Make Guacamole

guacamole recipe, how to make guacamole, guacamole recipes, guacamole picture

My husband's guacamole recipe is the BEST of all recipes that I've tried. So last night I finally asked him to share his secret of how to make guacamole.

Here's what you need:

  • 2 Large avocados or 4 small ones
  • 1/2 large tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/4 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, finely chopped
  • juice of 1 lime
  • handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Put avocados in medium large bowl. Run knife through them to roughly chop, and then mash with fork. (It's not necessary to over mash it.)
  2. avocado mashed, guacamole recipe

  3. Add all ingredients and stir.

This will serve 6-8 adults generously. Best if you can make an hour in advance so the flavors can meld together.

To minimize browning of the avocado for storage, place a layer of plastic wrap on top of the guacamole like a skin, and then place another layer of plastic wrap over the bowl. Refrigerate.
