Crock Pot Orange Chicken

Dinner really doesn't get any easy than this crock pot orange chicken.  It just doesn't!  That's why we love it.

Crock Pot Orange Chicken

I love any excuse to use the phrase, "winner, winner, chicken dinner!" but this meal truly was a winner with my family.  My husband said that of all the 'chicken and fruit' recipes we've tried, this was by far his favorite.  So just make it!  You can thank me later.

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 chicken breasts, fully thawed, juices drained off
  • 1 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce (don't substitute...really!)
  • 1 cup of Smucker's Sweet Orange Marmalade (Walmart's Great Value brand is also good)
  • 3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • White Rice

Directions:

Combine orange marmalade, soy sauce, and barbecue sauce in a bowl.  Place chicken breasts in a crock pot.  Cover the chicken with the sauce and put the lid on it.  Turn crock pot to high for 3-4 hours.

**Alternatively I have thrown frozen chicken breasts in the crock pot on high for 4 hours, drained the liquid from the crock pot, then place them back in there and covered them in the sauce for 3-4 more hours on low.

Cook rice according to package directions.  Serve chicken over rice.  Be sure to spoon extra sauce on your rice.

Enjoy!
