Corn Dog Casserole

by Stephy Cummings
(Ennis, Texas)

You'll Need:

  • 1 package hot dogs sliced into
discs (your choice, any brand you
    like)

  • 2 boxes cornbread muffin
    mix.

  • 1 can creamed corn

  • 1/2 C. Sugar.

Prepare the cornbread mix per package instructions and combine the sugar and creamed corn with it. Stir in your sliced hot dogs and pour into greased baking dish.

Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until your toothpick comes out clean.

My family eats mustard with their corn dogs but once you serve it you can top it with whatever you like on a corn dog or nothing at all!

Serves 5-6

P.S. Turkey dogs can be substituted! ENJOY!!

thanks to your comments....
by: Tonia

thanks to all of your comments and insight, heres how i fixed it so it didn't take but 25 minutes....i used 4 boxes of cornbread mixes, mine called for 1 egg each and 1/3 cup milk each, I only used the eggs and then 2 cans of creamed corn, and the sugar, put it in a long pan..not sure of the size i don't bake much but the thickness of the batter was about an inch or so before it baked.....25 min and it was done and even my 3 year old finally ate hotdogs....:) hope this helps some, and i think even next time this would go great on top of some chili! it came out very slightly crumbly but served it in bowls and it was a hit...huge pan GONE! everyone in my house finally agreed on a meal...THANK YOU!!

Try a bigger pan. Also try using corn kernels instead of the creamed corn. This will reduce the liquid content and add a lovey texture.

more detail please
by: Anonymous

I cooked this in an 8x8 pan at 350 for 20 minutes
it was still liquid
added 20 minutes and it was still not done
added foil over top because the color was good
after 50 more minutes it was good enough to eat
while tasty, it was still not done in the middle

so, should I use a shallower dish?
or reduce added fluid by half?
or add more dry ingredients, like corn niblets?
I'm considering all 3

again, it was tasty, just not quick
