Beer Margarita Recipe

It's the margarita of all margaritas!  It's the one that my taste buds compare all other margaritas against.  It's my signature drink.  If you come to an event at my house, you'll likely be served this beer margarita recipe.  I even had them at my wedding reception in a fountain.  It doesn't get much better than a fountain flowing full margaritas.  There's a picture of that somewhere.

beer margaritas

Ingredients:

  • a good tequila, 100% agave
  • Frozen limeade concentrate, 1 can
  • 7-up or Sprite (diet can be used too with virtually no taste difference!) 1 can
  • 1 bottle of Corona or Dos Equis beer
  • 1 lime
  • Margarita Salt
  • olives for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In serving pitcher add one can of frozen limeade, don't throw away the empty can.  This is the measuring device for the other liquids.
  2. 7-up, add one full can
  3. and tequila, add one full can.
  4. add an ounce of fresh lime juice
  5. Open the bottle of beer and add to the mixture. Stir to mix the frozen limeade into the other ingredients
  6.  Serve on the rocks with margarita salt.

Hints:

Any kind of beer will do, but I find that Mexican beer makes the best Margarita

Do not put this mixture in the blender...trust me...don't!

Garnish with the Mezzeta Jalapeno Stuffed Olives on a drink pick.

El Jimador is a good smooth tequila without being nearly as expensive as Patron or Milagro.  It's hard to find, though.

Salud!
