Nothing beats homemade easy hot rolls! This dinner roll recipe won't disappoint you, and it's the one my mom has always used!

In a large bowl combine:

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 packages yeast
  • Let set about 5 minutes. Add:
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3-4 Tbs. shortening

Directions:

Mix well and add 4-5 cups flour. Knead and put back in bowl to

rise. After it has doubled in size, push down and then form

into 1 1/2 to 2 inch balls. Put in greased pan and let rise

again. Bake at 350 degrees until brown. (20-30 minutes)
